Dennis Hicks - Managing Director
Dennis Hicks
first entered the computing industry in 1969 as a field engineer
supporting NatWest, Barclays and Midland
Bank systems.
Following this Dennis spent 9 years in the electronics manufacturing
industry working in areas such as telecommunications test equipment,
television, audio and video. Dennis authored
a computerised quality management control system for Rank Radio
International which was adopted throughout its manufacturing
function and also spent 3 years as a senior training instructor
teaching electronics.
In 1980 Dennis returned to the computing
industry as a computer programmer at Farley Health
Products, then a subsidiary of Glaxo, and wrote the sales
order processing system for the company.
In 1982 Dennis moved to Plymouth Polytechnic
(now Plymouth University) as Systems and Operations Manager of the
Computer Centre, supporting almost the
entire student and staff population of the institution.
In 1986, with the Stock Exchange deregulation pending,
Dennis joined an IT consultancy,
Eosys, near London and was involved in a
large number of corporate and public sector IT strategy studies with
particular emphasis on network connectivity requirements.
In mid-1987, Dennis moved on to become
Distributed Processing Manager at Devonport
Dockyard, which had just been put under commercial
management. During this period a large number of new computer
systems were installed along with Europe's first 3km long fibre
optic network.
In the early 1990s, Dennis became a part
owner of JAD Logic Ltd, the largest reseller
in the South West and took on the role of Technical Director.
JAD Logic became specialists in clustering
solutions and other high-availability techniques such as RAID
storage. Dennis has now become the sole director of JAD Logic and
JAD Integrated Services, overseeing the whole group and researching
into new IT technologies; keeping JAD at the cutting edge.
When not at work Dennis likes to enjoy a weekend away by the sea or a glass of wine in the garden (although he never stops thinking about the latest computer solutions).
Joanna Rowe - Purchasing Manager
Peter Davis– Head of StoneFly Sales Europe
Peter is one of the original members of JAD. He is a highly experienced storage specialist and the head of JAD’s StoneFly iSCSI European sales division. His knowledge of high availability and storage virtualisation solutions is extensive and he uses his 30+ years of industry experience to help clients solve their data storage problems.
Peter is also a qualified Yachtmaster Examiner and a keen sailor so when not at work he can usually be found on the high seas racing or working with aspiring Yachtmasters.

John McGill - Head of Electronic Document Management
After progressing to a senior position in a chain of department stores, John became involved with the computer industry as part of the company’s EPOS (Electrical Point of Sales) project at the very start of the electronic computing era.
In 1981 John joined IBM and was involved in the early beginnings of the IBM PC, one of the first commercial desktop computers. In 1986 John left to work for the value added reseller channel within account management and business development. Since 1999 John has worked for JAD Logic as an account and new business development manager for networking and storage solutions. He is now also an electronic document management specialist.
John uses his 27+ years of industry experience to advise clients on maximising the benefits of their IT investment, and keeps them abreast of immerging technologies.
When not at work John enjoys his garden and beer.

David Hulme – Cabling Contracts Manager
David has been the Cabling Contracts Manager with JAD since early 2005 and previously to that spent 5 years with another Plymouth based IT company where he worked his way up from a junior engineer to the Cabling supervisor. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of Network infrastructure cabling, and as such is a great asset to both JAD and its customers who know they are receiving a first class service with competitive prices, projects completed on time and to budget.
Away from JAD, David is an avid football fan following his home town team Bradford City. He is a keen reader, DIYer and enjoys spending time with his wife and children.

Jill Anderson – Consumable Sales Manager
Jill has been with JAD since 1999 and previously to that spent 10 years with another Plymouth-based IT company so she has a wealth of experience in the computer market, the majority of which she has spent specialising in Consumable Sales. Her knowledge of the supplies industry is a great asset to both JAD and her customers who can always rely on Jill to provide them with a first class service & competitive prices.
Away from JAD, Jill is a keen runner and is a member of Plymouth Harriers Running Club. She has run the London Marathon twice and also completed the Plymouth Half Marathon 7 times, with hopefully more to come. She is also a keen football fan and follows her home team, Oldham Athletic avidly (well, someone has to!)

Tracey Morriss - Senior Sales Executive
Having worked for an IT Reseller since 1987 Tracey’s knowledge and experience of the IT industry is a key asset to JAD. Tracey joined the JAD team in 1999 and concentrates mainly on solution sales. Her professional attitude and attention to detail always ensures her clients get the best level of service at all times.
Tracey’s young family take up most of her time away from the office, but she still finds time to keep fit and enjoy her love of drawing.

Simon Cantwell - Technical Sales Executive
Simon has been with JAD since 1982 (yes that is 1982). In his time at JAD he has had the roles of retail shop assistant, programmer, hardware repair engineer, network installation engineer and trainer. As he is now too old to do these things we have moved him into sales where JAD can draw on his experience to provide top-class solutions and products to clients.
Outside of JAD Simon likes to watch motor racing, read and listen to loud music.
Jason Wickens – Senior Technical Engineer
Jason has worked in IT for 22 years (He isn’t that old, he just started very young!) – This experience and his technical certifications from Microsoft, HP, IBM, Cisco, VMware and Citrix put him amongst good company at JAD where he has worked for the past 14 years.
At home his wife and two young boys keep him occupied having fun, but extra free time is normally spent sat on the sofa falling asleep!

Richard Slattery - Senior Technical Engineer
Richard continues to be enthusiastic about new technology; especially after spending two decades at JAD. His extensive knowledge covers a broad range of products which are always evolving. He is committed to providing a first class service and, as a leading member of the technical team, he spends most of his time at customer sites providing professional solutions for their server, storage, clustering and high availability requirements.
Simon Bovey - Senior Technical Engineer
Simon has been in the IT industry since finishing his electronic qualifications in 1995. After 5 years in other IT related companies – working within desktop configuration, network cabling, industrial Profibus plant systems and PC/printer field service engineering - he came to JAD to continue this work along with adding Microsoft qualifications.
Outside of work Simon has many interests including electronics, science, walking , cycling, gardening and formally paragliding (he now finds less time for this being recently married to Nicki!)
